
Ingredients
♥ ½ cup of sugar
♥ ⅓ cup of butter (softened)
♥ 2 eggs
♥ 1 ¾ cups sifted flour (see gluten free substitution below)
♥ 2 tsp. baking powder
♥ ½ tsp. salt
♥ ¼ tsp. baking soda
♥ 1 cup/4-5 mashed, ripe, bananas
♥ 1 cup of walnuts, chocolate chips, etc. (optional)
Directions
➊ Preheat oven to 350 ºF.
➋ Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat well.
➌ Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture..
➍ Alternately add bananas, beating well after each addition.
➎ Stir in walnuts, chocolate chips, etc. (optional)
➏ Pour into well-greased loaf pan (8x4x3 inch)
➐ Bake at 350 ºF for about 1 hour or until done.
➑Remove from pan and cool on rack. Enjoy!
*The best bananas for banana bread aren’t bright yellow; they’re dark brown (or they’re at least streaked with black/brown). Ultimately, bananas become sweeter the riper they are, which is why those with brown spots are utilized to add great flavor to banana breads and other baked goods. So, the riper the better! Feel free to add more than 1 cup too.
*You can try gluten free flour, just make sure it has a binder like xanthan gum in it (look on the ingredient label) for structural support
